I’m not one for blood and gore, unless it’s extremely campy and unreal, and this is just ridiculous enough to give me the giggles. Luckily, a fan of the Christmas caper classic has answered your heart's desire by turning the PG-rated family comedy into an R-rated, blood-soaked, gore-fest. One of the clips also allows Old Man Marley to get in on the action as well, and it is hard to imagine that Kevin would not need therapy after seeing the way his neighbor deals with these two burglars. However, if you're also like me, you also grew up wondering how Harry nonchalantly takes a crowbar to the chest and doesn't wake up in the morgue the next day. Or how Old Man Marley knocks the Wet Bandits unconscious with a metal shovel and they both manage to live on to appear in the sequel. I remember when the first Home Alone movie came out and Kevin had rigged up all sorts of boobie traps and thinking that these traps could easily kill someone. Took the shine off the movie for me.

Well wonder no longer and the clever digital effects people atBitMassive on YouTube has added some blood effects to some of the best known scenes in both of the two movies to show you exactly what might happen. The results are highly amusing and we think you’ll enjoy. A few months ago we posted a video called "Home Alone With Blood". It basically featured one of the violent scenes from the classic 90s Christmas movie with blood added for grotesque dramatic effect.

Unbeknown to them a criminal duo are combing the area for empty houses to burgle during the Christmas holidays but Kevin gets wind of their evil plot and decides he must defend his house by any means necessary.

It is honestly pretty amazing what dedicated fans can pull off if they have a little bit of editing expertise and a decidedly demented sensibility. That video utilizes a simple yet compelling premise, and it really puts Kevin's actions throughout the Home Alone movies into perspective. Sure, the Wet Bandits might not be great guys, but the traps set by this little kid are downright sadistic.
Another clip shows Marv and Harry finally getting their hands on the little troublemaker, only to be smacked on the head by “Old Man” Marley’s shovel. BecauseHome Alone is a light-hearted comedy from the iconicJohn Hughes, bricks to the forehead, metal pipes to the skull, and shovels to the face result merely in laughs, not bodily harm. But thanks to the magic of YouTube and digital technology, we now get to watch Kevin deal out a helping of bloody Christmas cheer to the would-be bandits. Keep the change, ya filthy animal. With the pre-amble over, can you imagine what it would be like if the antics in both Home Alone and its sequel were actually to happen?
The part with all of the broken Christmas ornaments on the floor and the villains stepping on them in bare feet... Apparently I gave a problem suspending belief with movies like this one. Undoubtedly one of the greatest Christmas movies ever made but also potentially one of the most brutal. If you’re not familiar with the story, Home Alone kicks off with a large family (The McCallister’s) prepping to jet off to Paris for a vacation.
Home Alone doesn’t make a lot of sense as an adult, but it’s still a classic. By placing Kevin McCallister in a slapstick hyper reality, Home Alone’s bone-crushing violence becomes a live-action Bugs Bunny cartoon instead of a snuff film. I can’t stop cringing and I can’t stop laughing.
For anyone who ever wondered how Harry takes a crowbar to the chest and doesn't wake up in the morgue the next day.
There's something undeniably hilarious about these clips that I cannot quite put my finger on. Perhaps it's the extreme Quentin Tarantino-esque violence of it all, or perhaps it has something to do with the corruption of a childhood classic. Honestly, I think it might be both of those things in equal measure. If someone out there wants to make an R-rated remake of Home Alone and utilize this insane level of violence, I will be the first person in line to buy myself a ticket. Of course, it's worth noting that Kevin is not the only one with blood on his hands in these videos.
And, every time, it’s because I just can’t believe that these two dudes would incur all of these extreme injuries without shedding a drop of blood. Well, I should be careful what I wish for, because now, there will be blood. #2 Home Alone – Kevin is Rescued by Old Man Marley
Well, since we released that first video, YouTube user BitMassivereleased four more blood-filled Home Alone videos for your viewing enjoyment. In real life, Kevin McCallister would have murdered Marv and Harry very early on with his deadly traps. It is funny to see him beat up two grown up adults but now with blood, it is hilarious! So far BitMassive has added bloody effects to four scenes from Home Alone 1 and 2, but he could run with this premise forever if you consider how many movies contain slapstick violence in need of a gory makeover. We have seen “Home Alone With Blood” couple of months ago.
The look on Marv's face after being struck by a metal pipe was particularly gruesome, and certainly would've bumped up Home Alone 2's MPAA rating if the film had used these effects. YouTube user BitMassive took three scenes from Chris Columbus’ children’s movie and edited it to include tons of blood and gore. We’ve always known that the film is violent, but with these added special effects, you can’t help feel bad for burglars Harry and Marv and all the treacherous things Kevin McCallister does to them. The first video features the bad guys trying to go upstairs, just to be hit with a huge metal pole. Blood splats all over the walls and the guys suffer massive injuries.
